
Step 1- Students need to take the TABE test.
Track 1
1. Students who get an 8th grade or higher on the TABE test can take the math paper pre-test.
2. If a student scores less than 75% on the paper test, they will be assigned either a PLP class or a book to work on their math. If a student scores above 75%, they will be given the other three paper tests, English, Science, and Social Studies.
3. If a student scores 75% or higher on English, Science and Social Studies, they will be given the Official Practice Test on the computer. If the student scores a 145 on all of the Official Practice Tests, they will be given the actual GED, at the discretion of the detention center.
4. If students’ scores lower than 75% they will be assigned a book to use to strengthen their skills, in the subject or subjects they scored lower than 75%. That student may o be given the official practice test to take over again, or may just be given the Real GED. It is up to the discretion of the school and detention center.
Track 2
1. Students who score less than 8th grade math on the TABE must complete the College Readiness math class, before taking the Math paper pre-test.​
