Ninth City Burning

Ninth City Burning

J. Patrick Black

Out of nowhere an alien force slowly and mysteriously took over earth with powers we did not know about until they invaded. Once we understood their powers, we used them to fight back. People that survived drew the invaders away back to their different worlds from which they came. Five centuries later, everyone that still remained are still fighting the war. Over time we’ve developed magical powers the invaders possess and to protect humanity everyone lives a militaristic lifestyle. Everyone is trained to somehow help the war effort. However, leaders in the war keep the powers discreet from everyone and hide the status of the war to “protect” everyone. All until teenager kids who are intellectually capable find a way to save everyone from an ambush that could’ve ended everything.

This book talks about the universe. How before a war happened, we didn’t know about time travel, portals, magic or anything that was around earth, possibilities of alien planets and traveling at the speed of light. I love it because of all the knowledge we still don’t know.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in Harry Potter books, etc. It’s a sci-fi book with detailed action on war and how a different society was formed to protect earth from an alien invasion from another world entirely. It’s so interesting, you get worked up reading it.
