2 years leading up to the Divergent and part of the Divergent book is told through fours points of view. It goes through Fours home life leading to the choosing ceremony and he chooses Dauntless. Then Fours experience through initiation with Erik. Soon the soles and values of Dauntless change and Four becomes suspicious of Euriodite and Dauntless planning an attack. When this becomes an initiate, it gives Four's perspective of falling fortris and around trusting her. He then needs to make a decision whether to tell someone and what faction to betray. I like the book because it helps you understand his character more deeply. It gives clarity on Four and Tris' relationship. It also shows Four struggling on whether he should warn abnegation on the attack or betray them. I recommend this book to anyone who reads the Divergent series ,who wants to read it before reading Divergent, or anyone who is interested in books like the Hunger Games. This book is different because it gives a second perspective to a series.
